Film Analysis- 120 points: This assignment must be 3-4 pages, typed, and double-spaced. Select a movie from the following list of films:
- The Joy Luck Club

- Crazy Rich Asians
- Hidden Figures
- Killers of the Flower Moon
The film analysis should address the following:
- Name of film, year of release, producer(s)
- Summary of the films major themes/plot and conclusion
- You must apply concepts and theories weve reviewed in class readings and videos to offer a critical analysis of the selected film. Use specific examples from the movie to support your analysis. Consider focusing on a particular scene or character, while analyzing representations of race, ethnicity, culture, gender, sexuality, or class. You may also make connections to your own lived experiences. Citations of class texts using MLA formatting including a minimum of 3 in-text citations is required.
Structurally, your analysis should demonstrate the following:
- Organizational Structure/ Idea development: Writer demonstrates logical sequencing of ideas through a thesis statement and well developed paragraphs; Transitional phrases are used to enhance organization
- Mechanics : No errors in punctuation, capitalization and spelling
- Usage: No errors in sentence structure and word usage
