The classical and positive schools make divergent assertions regarding whether h

The classical and positive schools make divergent assertions regarding whether humans are inherently good or evil. The classical school believes that people are self-serving opportunists, whereas the positive school proffers that people are endemically good natured. Discuss whether you believe humans are inherently good or evil. Based on your view, what should be the response of the criminal justice system? For example, if people are inherently good, should the police focus their efforts on community policing or employ the hard nose policing strategy associated with the “thin blue line.” Regarding the court system, should we use indeterminate, determinate or mandatory sentencing policies? What about the death penalty? If people are inherently good, can the death penalty be legitimately used?
